A Foodie Kind of April
This month is full-on foodie Fridays mouth-watering holidays.
Below we decided to list a few of our favorite unofficial national food-related holidays for this month.
National Fresh Celery Month – April 2022

National Fresh Celery Month in April each year celebrates one of the produce world’s shining stars. It may not get much attention — celery side dishes aren’t all that common, after all — but celery offers crunchy freshness that few other vegetables can match. Celery is a terrific addition to weight-loss regimens, it’s reasonably inexpensive to buy, and it adds new vitality to your meals. It’s endemic to the Mediterranean area and has been farmed since ancient times.
National Caramel Day – April 5, 2022

National Caramel Day is on April 5, and we are super duper happy to celebrate this wonderful pleasure, inciting a treat in the best way possible — making and eating it. Caramel has been with us for hundreds of years, layering, flavoring, and making our snacks and food sweeter with its addition. On this holiday, we celebrate its addition to our tasty desserts by savoring its delectable taste, sharing it with family and friends, and going all out to make a caramel dish out of a famous recipe. Whichever way you choose, make sure it’s a sweet one!
National Peach Cobbler Day – April 13, 2022

National Peach Cobbler Day on April 13 celebrates peach cobbler, the undeniable American classic — it even comes from early European settlers in America! Something we love about cobblers is that there’s basically an endless variety. From classics like a peach- and blackberry cobblers, to crisps, crumbles, Brown Betties, and pandowdies — if you have juicy fresh berries and some kind of dough, you have a cobbler!
National Tea Day – April 21, 2022

There is nothing more classically British than afternoon tea, which makes National Tea Day, April 21, a wildly popular occasion in the country. This love of tea dates back centuries and this fondness seems to only get stronger with time! National Tea Day’s slogan is “Brew More. Do More.” The vision is to inspire special moments with tea. Working with a variety of partner companies throughout the year, they desire to bring tea drinkers, tea servers, and the entire tea industry together. So, grab your cuppa and settle in for a read on how to celebrate this truly brilliant holiday.
National Shrimp Scampi Day – April 29, 2022

April Shrimp scampi has different meanings around the world. In the U.S. “shrimp scampi” is the “menu name” for shrimp in Italian-American cuisine. Scampi’s served in garlic butter, dry white wine, and parmesan cheese — either with bread or over pasta or rice — although sometimes just the shrimp alone. Most variants of “shrimp scampi” come on pasta. Consider National Shrimp Scampi Day on April 29 your opportunity to have this dish any way you like.
(Actually, Americans seem to love any food — as long as it’s served with bread, or over pasta or rice.)
